Chairman's MessageOnce again, the ball has dropped in Times Square ushering in a new year. Each year we continue to see our industry adapt to the changing market place. Ten years ago, everyone was concerned about NAFTA and the ensuing flood of work going south. Now, even those guys are worried about the Asian marketplace. Soon it could be India or Brazil. Meanwhile, the US foundry industry maintains its status quo with fewer producers. Technology and our proximity to the end user are the two of the key factors that continue to keep us strong. Upcoming on the AFS calendar for 2008 is CastExpo in May. This year it is an equipment show being held in Atlanta. Locally, the AFS East Coast regional will take place in York, PA in October. Our topic for February’s meeting is “Casting Pricing and Estimating” being presented by Jon Giesige from Boose Aluminum. Join us in Lancaster on February 12, 2008. Have a healthy and prosperous year, Mike Galvin
